For over fifteen years, Katalina has created artwork in different media such as painting, photography, and film. She studied Fine Arts, Graphic Design, and Sociology. The artist has collaborated in multimedia projects with other artists and exhibited her work in galleries in Chicago, New Orleans, Brooklyn, and Latin America. After moving to New York City, Katalina began working on a group of oil paintings inspired by Jorge Luis Borges’ Book of the Imaginary Beings, Manual de Zoología Fantástica, which is a bestiary with more than one hundred tales. The paintings transform some of these myths into a compendium of surreal creatures from diverse cultures.

Katalina has completed numerous portrait commissions, editorial illustrations, and mixed media work for personal exhibitions. She is currently working as a professional visual artist, art instructor, and filmmaker.
